A recent article on Chantilly neighborhood called the new houses “mini mansions.” So, we have a new nickname for the lot 🙂
Walking and a talking!
The latest way to make William laugh – the Bucking Bronco Ball!
Basketball – William LOVES it!
Hanging out with cousins Kaitlyn and Lucy at Gran Gran’s house
Kaitlyn and Lucy helping William learn his colors in the video below
William loves hats – he even makes toys like this half circle into hats. He is carrying his new duck with a “W” cape from Chris and Heather.
Easter morning… Surprise William! The Easter bunny brought Heather and Stephen!
We “hid” colorful eggs around the apartment living room and put dried blueberries inside in hopes that he would learn the “game.” It worked because later that day he collected eggs at the Wilmot’s Easter Egg Hunt 🙂
More progress at the lot, yay!
Heather is giving the big oak tree positive wishes to help it stay healthy through the construction.
William attended his first art festival “Come-See-Me”- it was perfect for toddlers. William colored on the street with chalk and played in his first drum circle too!
Hanging out with the Williams on a Friday night – Aiden and Court are pretending to be a seat belt for William.
Mr. Tumbles – photo created by Heather 🙂
Peas Please
William has started eating with a spoon! It sure is messy but fun to see! It’s cute that he likes to get the fallen ones out of his bib – he is not letting any go to waste!
Progress!
We are making progress! The foundation of our new house is complete and they are waterproofing it. In this picture, you can see outside of the garage (brick) and the interior walls of the basement (cinder blocks) and a whole lot of red mud!
FaceTime with Gran Gran and Grandaddy! Lots of Pat a Cake!
William has started walking further and further away from the house. Whenever we say the word “Outside,” he smiles and immediately walks to the door. Below he is walking on Laburnum for the first time and he went all the way to the stop sign. He would have gone further if we had let him!
Out to dinner at Zio’s, one of our favorites. William is already a basketball fan – whenever he sees a basketball hoop in the neighborhood, he yells “Ball!”He likes to play the piano too! His fingers look good on the keys!
And of course, swim lessons! Learning lot of songs, to blow bubbles in the water and how to “Kick, kick, kick!”
The Big Surprise
Notice that Charlie wore pink and Chatham wore blue (completely unaware). Ironically Charlie bet it would be a boy and Chatham bet it would be a girl! Everyone at lunch wore a mustache or a bow!
We were “good” or patient is probably a better word – we ate our lunch before cutting into the cake. William just started to eat with a spoon by himself… sometimes!
Feet Don’t Fail Me Now!
William is walking! He took his first step in January.
A week later, he could take 5 steps in a row. Now he walks all over the place!

We went to a lot of Christmas parties and William got to spend time with his cousins. They are posing for a picture here – it is hard to get everyone focused at the same time!

William is pointing the head massager at Lillie (it was one of his favorite toys). He learned to say the word “dog” and said it many, many times during our stay at the Kierstead’s. Lillie was very patient and by the end, William got brave enough to pet her.

Charlie and Chatham got new luggage for Christmas! We will be able to use it when we go to St. Croix to visit Heather, Chris and Stephen in a few weeks!

William got his first tricycle (without pedals). He is not able to push himself yet, so we pull him with a Christmas ribbon – he LOVES it!!!

William got his first car – a red hot convertible. Here he is climbing in over the door – there is no wrong way to get in!
William is ONE!
William loves throwing a ball – he laughs and laughs. It might be is favorite game.
All bundled up and ready for Fall!

Suzi Buckle made William’s AMAZING costume – thank you, thank you Suzi!!!
We closed on a new lot on William’s birthday/Halloween – we will be in a new home for next year’s party. In this picture we are admiring the blanket of golden leaves 🙂
“Uh-Oh”
“Uh-oh” is William’s saying and we believe that he said it for the first time while understanding its meaning in late July when a family friend was holding him. Someone dropped something and he said, uh-oh. Although he uses it frequently, it is often for that kind of scenario (what does that say about our lives… lol). It is also possible that his first word is cat (Chatham’s doing – every time we see the cat, Chatham says “cat.” William has been saying “ca” for a while but finally got the “t” too. “Cat.” He LOVES our cat!
Tumbles is tucked safely on Charlie’s lap (out of William’s sight at the moment)
William has 2 half teeth on the bottom and 4 teeth coming in on the top!
So far, the teacher’s pet! Ms. Kelly calls him “mellow” and uses William for most of the demonstrations in Kipper Swim Class at the YMCA
Charlie and Chatham snuck away to Las Vegas with the Kiersteads for Papa’s 70th birthday
And we went to RGC for our 2nd Anniversary

William has discovered the swing! He giggles constantly, and recently found that it can also be good for a nap!
The 6th Annual Pig Pickin’ was a blast!
The 3 generations… Charlie grew up watching his dad chop at the 4th of July pig pickings at the lake and now William is watching Charlie!
The Ripple Family!
The Kiersteads made it too! (William is sleeping in the background)
Rockin the Jordan outfit
William found the Forward Gear
On August 27th, William began crawling forward on hands and knees. He skipped the army crawl stage and is now going full steam ahead in every direction! Encouraging him to crawl lasted about 1 day… now that he moves so fast, we have to redirect him out of harm’s way. He has 1 big tooth on the bottom in the center – Charlie calls him Snaggle Tooth… Another new thing – William just learned how to hold his bottle and drink from it 🙂 A talent that he has had for a month or so is drinking from a straw usually at a restaurant – it is a fun way to keep him entertained and hydrated too.
The Williams invited us to their new estate – the Jump pool is awesome! William discovered a snorkel and is ready to go!
